| Field | Explanation |

| Query | Type your query in this box. A query can be as simple as words separated by spaces, or it can take advantage of more advanced features. For details on the options available to you in the query field see the AAAS Search help. |
| Host | These check boxes allow you to limit the location from which documents will be retrieved. The document locations are limited to those indexed by the AAAS search engine (such as aaas.org and project2061.org). |
| Cluster | This drop-down list allows you to choose the number of results to return. |
| Timeout | This drop-down list allows you to specify the maximum amount of time the search engine will use when performing your search. The search engine will only take as much time as needed up until this limit. If a search requires more time than is specified here the search engine will halt processing of the request and return the results it has available. Most searches can be done within the default timeout period. |
| Limit Results to the following file types | These check boxes allow you to limit your search to non-HTML documents such as Adobe PDF and Microsoft Word. |
