CCMS Knowledge Sharing Institute

2005 KNOWLEDGE SHARING INSTITUTE

The Knowledge Sharing Institute provides an opportunity to share information, resources, and expertise within CCMS and within the larger community of educators, researchers, and curriculum developers. This year’s institute attempts to increase our knowledge of available tools and frameworks for science curriculum materials research and development through poster sessions, small group discussions, and large-group presentations. In addition, we hope that sessions will strengthen existing collaborations and build new collaborations among participants. The program includes sessions focused on specific science topics (middle school earth science, elementary school astronomy, environmental science), on topics that cut across science domains (nature of science, data collection and analysis, models, history of science), and topics that cut across materials development more generally (diversity, teachers and curriculum, language literacy, student learning, curriculum design process, development tools). We hope you find the sessions both thought provoking and practical to your work.
