Activities: |
|
In a typical chapter, students read a brief passage relevant
to the mathematics concepts in the chapter and engage in a discussion with the teacher
about related mathematics connections and prior knowledge. Each chapter also includes
supplemental manipulative activities, a teamwork project designed to apply the mathematics
in the chapter, and math fun activities and challenges. In each lesson, students (1) read
an opening passage with real-life examples and illustrations of the mathematics ideas, (2)
answer related questions, and (3) work through guided and independent practice exercises.
Some lessons include problem solving, and computer connections, visual thinking, critical thinking, and multicultural connections activities. |
