Overview: This presentation uses examples from the detailed comparison
of Benchmarks for Science Literacy and the content portion of the
National Science Education Standards (NSES) that appears
on the Resources for Science Literacy: Professional Development
disk. The comparison shows the overwhelming similarity of the two documents
in substance and grade-level expectations for students. This option is

assurance of the congruence between Benchmarks and NSES.
