Workshop Opening,
Workshop Goals

Introduction

In planning a workshop you will have selected from the list of possibilities (see Chapter 5: Selected Readings, Possible Goals for Project 2061 Workshops) a set of goals that is both appropriate to the interests of participants and reasonable to achieve within the workshop’s time frame. It is important to convey some of these goals early in the workshop and to indicate briefly the relationship between them and the activities on the agenda. Participants may find it helpful to have the goals stated on the agenda or posted prominently on the wall. You can then refer to them to point out the link between activities and goals throughout the workshop.

The five sample options in this section illustrate goal choices for participant groups with different primary interests and responsibilities in the education system.

Option A: Workshop on Developing a Framework

Option B: Workshop on Teaching

Option C: Workshop on Integrating Curriculum

Option D: Workshop on Curriculum Analysis
