Issues
High-stakes
testing
in key subject areas has become
a significant
factor
in determining teacher and school quality
and student
achievement. Increasingly,
statewide
test results have become the basis
for funding
and policy decisions and for
student
advancement or graduation. But
how effective
are these
tests at evaluating what
students
really know?
Center for
Curriculum Materials in Science
The
Center for Curriculum
Materials in Science
(CCMS) is a partnership
of AAAS, Michigan
State University,
Northwestern University,
and the University
of Michigan. It is
focused on the analysis,
design, and use of
science curriculum
materials.
Interagency Education Research
Initiative
This five-year study
funded by the Interagency Education Research Initiative
(IERI) Project 2061 is helping to identify factors that improve
student
learning in middle grades mathematics.
