Chinese Edition of Atlas of Science Literacy Now in 2nd Printing
Popular Science Press of China has announced plans to reprint Volume 1 of Project 2061’s Atlas of Science Literacy; plans are also underway to translate and publish Volume 2 of the Atlas, completing the set of nearly 100 conceptual strand maps for K-12 science teaching and learning. Each map, such as those for Natural Selection and Statistical Reasoning, shows how students’ understanding of a particular topic might progress from the simplest ideas in kindergarten to more sophisticated ideas in high school.

In addition to the Atlas volumes, Popular Science Press has partnered with the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) to publish translations of Project 2061’s earlier books, including Science for All Americans, Benchmarks for Science Literacy, and Designs for Science Literacy. Like the Atlas, these books have been well received and widely used by educators throughout China.
