Project 2061 Welcomes First Scholarship Recipients
Project 2061 welcomed its first group of scholarship
recipients at the “Using Atlas
of Science Literacy” workshop held
Oct. 13-15, 2004, at AAAS headquarters in Washington,
DC. Through the generosity of donors to the AAAS
Funds for Excellence program, Project 2061 was able
to offer seven
individuals the opportunity to attend this popular
professional development workshop at no charge.
Awardees were selected based on their level of interest
in science and/or mathematics education at the local,
state, national, or international levels; their need
for financial support; and their potential for sharing
with others the knowledge gained at the workshop. The
selection committee sought participants from diverse
backgrounds and geographic areas. Information about scholarships
for future workshops will be posted soon.
